This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program. CAREC Business Forum 2026, being held in Ulaanbaatar, brings together more than 400 investors, business leaders, and representatives of organizations from 10 CAREC member countries across Central Asia, the South Caucasus, East Asia, and South Asia to discuss regional cooperation and explore new investment opportunities. Trade and Development Bank (TDB) is participating in the Forum as a sponsor.
During the Forum, discussions focused on Mongolia’s role in regional economic cooperation and the opportunities ahead.
Under the topic “Trade Finance in Mongolia,” TDB highlighted the importance of cooperation among banks and financial institutions in advancing trade, cross-border payments, and trade finance across CAREC member countries. TDB also participated in the panel discussion titled “Economic Freedom Law and Investment Environment of Mongolia.”

TDB accounts for 32% of Mongolia’s international payment and settlement market and 44% of the country’s trade finance market related to the European Union region. Looking ahead, TDB will continue to make a tangible contribution to Mongolia’s economic growth and sustainable development by financing strategically important projects and programs.
