Forbes Mongolia Women’s Summit

‘Forbes Mongolia,’ ‘Forbes Mongolian Women’ magazine and Bloomberg TV Mongolia’s Economists’ Club co-organized an event ‘Forbes Mongolia Women’s Summit’ on December 5.

Aimed to increase women’s involvement and support their leadership, the event attracted economists, freelance experts and women, who work in the managerial positions in social, business and political spheres. The participants shared views on how to resolve challenges encountered by women when doing business in the country.

Director of International and Corporate Relations Department in Trade and Development Bank, B.Erkhembayar:

We have implemented internal rules on gender equality to ensure our female employees have a career and financial opportunity. In order to provide loans, we assess the gender-sensitivity of companies. Ownership is a result of our traditional thinking. The culture of inheritance to male offspring is also noticeable in the business sector. Most women have no collateral, so they are not able to get bank guarantees or loans. Therefore, it needs government support and infrastructure. They can establish a guarantee fund for women-owned businesses. The government needs to support gender equality, which is one of the goals of sustainable development.
